Hans de Wilde, conductor, is a graduate of the conservatory of Zwolle. He studied trumpet (jazz) with Jan Wessels and has played in many formations since, including bigband Bodycheck. He continued to study choir direction with Jos Vermunt and Jos Leusink, graduating in 1994. He has also studied orchestra direction with Tilo Lehmann and has consequently had lessons from Ed Spanjaard and Jan Stulen. Already during his studies he conducted the schools’ choir and orchestra in Benjamin Britten’s Saint Nicolas Cantate. Owing to his broad education, his repertoire contains many genres.
He currently conducts Toonkunstkoor Nijmegen, Toonkunstkoor Wageningen and the NHL Stendenchoir. He is a popular guest director and did project with, among others, Bachcantes in Doetinchem, Vocal ensemble Pierre Villette (with whom he performed the world premiere of Villette’s Missa da pacem) and Concerto Vocale Nederland.
As a conductor he has collaborated with Oliver Knussen and Reinhard Goebel (Musica Antiqua Köln), among others. As a singer, he was connected to the ensemble BWV and he has had lessons from Marja Reinders and Margareth Beunders. He is an inspired musician who knows how to get the maximum out of all performers.
